There's a hands-on element so you will be doing a bit of stretching & folding, kneading, rolling flatbreads and flipping pancakes. In addition, the workshop will include a delicious plant-based lunch and lots of sourdough to sample throughout the day.
  • Nourished by Nature Workshops: Fermented Drinks, Fermented Veggies, Taste of Fermentation, Fermented Food for Kids - Fermented drinks like kombucha are gaining popularity, and rightly so. These delicious probiotic drinks are a wonderful replacement for sugar-laden fizzy drinks and alcohol. 3-hour workshops including lots of samples to taste, to take home and all the information necessary to become a fermentation expert.
  • All about Skin - This 3 hour workshop will be an informative, interactive hands-on experience, trying probiotic skincare, sampling delicious fermented snacks and probiotic drinks, all supporting skin health.

  • Maryhill Open Art Space - Courses in Greenware Decoration and Improver-beginner Wheel Throwing.
  • The Craft Pottery - We offer an array of pottery classes, all taught by our experienced tutors and ceramicists. Whether you are a beginner or have some pottery experience, we have hand-building and wheel-throwing experiences that cater for everybody.
  • Wild Gorse Pottery Classes - The evening throwing class is a five week course for beginners. This course will introduce you to working with clay, guide you through techniques on the potter’s wheel and introduce you to dip glazing. You will learn how to ‘throw’ and ‘turn’ pots before glazing your work in the final class, which will be ready for collection 2-3 weeks later after the final firing.
  • Spin Pottery and Ceramic Classes - We offer a range of ceramic classes and services suitable for all skill levels. Our workshops are designed to be fun and chilled we even allow BYOB.
  • Govanhill Baths Ceramics (Facebook, Instagram) - A variety of courses and classes that cater for all levels of skill.

  • Stef Baxter Pottery - Tuition for all abilities, from absolute beginners to pro-potters. Learn both hand building and wheel thrown techniques, using stoneware, earthenware, porcelain and raku clay. Tea and coffee are provided at your class with an accompanying choice of biscuits!

Screen Printing

  • Maryhill Open Art Space - Screen-Printing: Upcycle your t-shirts & textiles: The use of monotype and stencil will help you to work in a free and abstract way, to create motifs and explore pattern. You will be printing with textile inks onto your old garments and other textiles (whatever you choose, as long as it's at least 50% cotton) and will leave the course with a load of 'new' stuff, but you will also have developed a range of expressive prints that will help inform other work, including decorating pots.

For 16 years, we operated from freezing health clubs and school pools that left a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness and reliability.
